The University of Florida Association of Black Alumni-D.C. Committee was established in 2013 by a group of University of Florida alumni in an effort to build support, develop, and create initiatives that aid in the personal and professional development of UF alumni of color in the Greater Washington, D.C. area.

The UFABA-D.C. Chapter aligns itself with the goals and objectives set forth by the national organization to keep members of the D.C., Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Delaware communities engaged with the Gator NationĀ®.

The mission of the Association of Black Alumni is to support the goal and objectives of the UF Alumni Association's strategic plan and to establish programming, formulate support, and develop initiatives that assist in the professional and personal development of UF African-American alumni, students, faculty and staff.

  • Develop opportunities to engage alumni in programs and activities that connect with UF students.
  • Promote the Association of Black Alumni and its members as a network and support group for students, faculty, staff and alumni.
  • Identify and recognize African-American pioneers at the University of Florida.
  • Assist in the identification and recruitment of African-American students, faculty and staff.
  • Coordinate and establish an accurate record of the University of Florida history as it involves African-American students, faculty and staff.
